One great thing I learned from Yumi Sakugawa is to set a timer (well she says to use an intentional pocket of time which I interpret as Hey Siri set a timer for 15 minutes) and make AS MUCH of one thing as you can during that time. Quantity over quality. Then do it again if you want! The more I play with it, the weirder and more fun my ideas get—what if I wrote a meditation and recorded it on my phone? What if I drew a comic in sloppy black ink? Yesterday morning: what if I wrote as many bad little poems as I could in 15 minutes? Today: what if I made a tiny little zine about whatever comes out? I often look back on these later and feel like they were made by an alien hand. “I made that?” is one of my favorite things to feel.
YES BAD ART.
I love you,
Lindsey
